Myth is a kind of discourse created by the ancients in the name of god.It is the condensed wisdom of the ancients with multiple meanings.The Miao canoe dragon boat myths circulated in the mid-stream area of Qingshuijiang River carry with them the memory of the local Miao group,reflect the institutional logic of the local society and witness the different layers and winding courses of ethnic interactions and integration.The construction and reconstruction of the canoe dragon boat myths are the product of compromises reached between political,eco-nomic,cultural,geographic,spatio-temporal and emotive cognitive powers of the local Miao society.and more importantly,the reasonable expressions of orderly survival of the society.
