Analyzing the Path of Strengthening the Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation through Festive Sports:A Case Study of the Hill Climbing Festival of Hmong in Leishan
Hill Climbing Festival is one of the three traditional festivals in Leishan County,southeastern Guizhou.Folk sports activities are an important part of Hill Climbing Festival.This study,focusing on the case of the Hmong Climbing Festival in Leishan County,Qiandongnan,explores the practical pathways through which festi-val sports strengthen the sense of community for the Chinese nation.The field survey found that the Hill Climbing Festival has gone through a historical change from a private festival to a government-organized festival,in which the participants of the festival and the sports are mainly pluralistic subjects,increasing social interaction and pro-moting the extensive interaction among various ethnic groups.It can extend inter-ethnic boundaries,enhance cul-tural commonalities,promote in-depth exchanges among various ethnic groups,enhance emotional connection, improve cultural identity,promote the deep integration of various ethnic groups,and strengthen the sense of com-munity for the Chinese nation.
