The ABB Reduplicated Adjectives and Their Typological Features in Miao Language in Xiangxi
This paper analyzes the reduplicated adjectives of ABB in Xiangxi Shanjiang Miao language from the point of view of classification and grammatical function,and holds that the reduplicated adjective ABB of Xiangxi Shanjiang Miao language can act as syntactic components alone,and no other grammatical units can be added be-tween adjective A and reduplicated adverbial BB,so it is a compound word with close structure.Cross-linguistic investigation shows that adjectives and reduplicated adverbials have experienced the process of lexicalization from phrases to words,and the different uses of ABB reduplicated adjectives in Xiangxi Miao language in different re-gions are related to the different stages of lexicalization of adjectives and reduplicated adverbials.
