Sandstone is the most commonly used and fundamental building materials.Take Guangdong Province,which has a developed economy and a huge demand for sandstone,as an example to study the current consumption and supply situation of sandstone.The results showed that in 2020 and 2021,the consumption of sandstone in Guangdong Province reached over 1.3 billion tons,l.332 billion tons and 1.345 billion tons respectively.Nearly 90％of the con-sumption of sandstone was produced and supplied within Guangdong Province,and the overall supply and demand was in a"dynamic tight balance"state.Based on the current supply and demand situation,the development trend of the sandstone industry under the new development concept was analyzed,as well as the evolution process of sandstone de-mand in Guangdong Province in the next decade under the background of economic development and industrial transfor-mation and upgrading.It is expected to reach a peak of 1.5 billion tons in 2025,and gradually maintain around 1.3 bil-lion tons with the optimization of industrial layout and industrial transformation and upgrading.Suggestions for the de-velopment of the sandstone industry in Guangdong Province were proposed:the government should coordinate plan-ning,rational layout,improve systems,refine standards,promote the integration of small and scattered mines orderly,and carry out large-scale mineral rights transfer in a scientific and orderly manner.At the enterprise level,it is necessary to closely combine policy guidance with the development trend of the sandstone industry,accelerate transformation and upgrading,promote the construction of green mines and the transformation of intelligent production lines.
