Influence of Different Water Retention Components on Performance of Concrete
Adding functional components to water reducing agents to optimize the performance of concrete is a com-monly used technical means. However,as water reducing agents gradually focus on polycarboxylate water reducing a-gents,changes in their acid-base system will affect the effectiveness of the functional components.Based on this, the in-fluences of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose and Xanthan gum on the fluidity, setting time and compressive strength of concrete were studied by adding hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose and Xanthan gum into polycarboxylic acid water reduc-er respectively. The research results show that Xanthan gum polysaccharide has better improvement effect on concrete than cellulose ether. It can play a better water retention effect, and has better compatibility with polycarboxylic acid.
