Application of Electrical Exploration in Exploration of Banwai Copper Polymetallic Deposit in Yunnan Province
The copper polymetallic mining area in Banwai District is located in Lancang County, southwestern Yunnan Province. Several large and medium-sized copper-polymetallic deposits are developed around the area. A comprehensive analysis profile of IP intermediate gradient and IP sounding perpendicular to the known geological structure in the mining area is deployed, and horizontal and vertical analysis is conducted in order to achieve a breakthrough in mineral exploration in the area. The results show that the tectonics is basically consistent with the geotectonic morphology, and the low resistivity and high polarization anomaly is found. Combined with the geology, it is inferred as a mineralization anomaly. Through drilling, it is verified that the fault structure contact zone is closely related to the mineralization alteration zone. This work shows that the comprehensive application of the two electrical exploration methods plays an important role in the exploration of copper polymetallic deposits, and the geophysical data obtained is of great value to the research of the deposits in this mining area.
