Practice of Phased Mining Design in an Open-pit Mine
In response to the actual production situation of the wide upper slope-expansion area and thick overlying rock layers in the mining area, a phased mining and slope-expansion plan for the mine is proposed. The slope-expansion area of the mine is divided into three phases for construction, and the mining area, highest mining elevation, and ore and rock volume for each phase are determined. Combined with the internal and external development and transportation roads of the mine, the slope-expansion boundary of each phase is optimized, and the reasonable start time of slope -expansion for each phase is determined, so as to achieve the purpose of balancing the production stripping ratio, reducing the investment in infrastructure, lowering the production cost, and realizing the economy and high efficiency of slope-expansion of the open-pit mines.
