Experimental Study on Beneficiation Process of a Magnetite Ore
A process mineralogical study is carried out on a magnetite ore to identify the mineral composition, chemical composition and embedding characteristics of the ore. The results reveal that:The main elements of this magnetite ore are TFe,Si,Ca,Al,Mg,K,Na,etc. The main recovered element in the ore is TFe with a content of 43.82%,and the impurity elements are Si with a content of 11.53%,Ca with a content of 5.65%,Mg with a content of 2.01%,and the harmful elements are S with a content of 2.36%,and P with a content of 0.04%. The primary iron-bearing minerals in this ore are magnetite and pyrite. The main vein minerals are diopside, black mica, anorthite and fayalite;the minor minerals are calcite, potassium feldspar, chlorite, augite, kirschsteinite, wollastonite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, scheelite, etc. Magnetite is the primary target mineral, most of which is in the form of monomer dissociation. A small portion of magnetite encloses amorphous diopside, another portion of magnetite coexists with anorthite, and a minor amount of magnetite is symbiotic with diopside. Based on the characteristics of this ore,the process of" one-stage grinding-roughing-two-stage grinding-two-stage cleaning" is adopted and the concentrate product indexes with a weak magnetic concentrate yield rate of 56.27%,a TFe grade of 68.43%,a mFe grade of 67.31%,a TFe recovery rate of 91.41%,and a mFe recovery of 98.51% and tailings indexes of a total tailings rate of 43.73%,a TFe grade of 8.56% and a TFe distribution rate of 8.86% can be obtained. The process has certain adaptability to this magnetite ore,can obtain good beneficiation indexes, and has good application and promotion prospects.
