Research on Application of Australian Ore Containing High Content of Crystal Water in Pellet Production
Pelletizing and roasting tests are carried out using finely ground Australian ores with high content of crystal water, and industrial tests are conducted. The results show that, with the increase of the ratio of Australian ore,the compressive strength of green balls don' t change much, but the bursting temperature lowers; With the increase of the ratio of Australian ore,it is necessary to increase the appropriate preheating and roasting temperature accordingly. When the ratio of Australian ore is no more than 20%,the influence on the original preheating and roasting regime is relatively small, but when the ratio is further increased, the adverse effect is significantly increased. When the ratio of Australian ore is between 20 and 40%,qualified pellets can be prepared by optimizing the water content in balling and the roasting regime; When Australian ores with high content of crystal water are roasted by the traveling grate-rotary kiln method in industrial tests, the performance of the prepared pellets could meet the smelting requirements of large blast furnace by increasing the roasting temperature and prolonging the roasting time. The results provide technical support for the application of Australian ores with high content of crystal water in pellet production.
