In view of the special working conditions of the inclined channel area of the dry quenching coke oven,45%of bauxite powder less than 0.044 mm,40%of silicon carbide powder less than 0.044 mm,10%of α-Al2O3 micropowder,5%of clay powder, water glass, aluminum dihydrogen phosphate and resin were used as mullite-silicon carbide refractory slurry binders to compare the adaptability of each binder to refractory powder and the flexural bonding strength and wear resistance of slurry. The results show that:1)the water glass with high concentration reacts violently with acid washing, alkali washing and untreated silicon carbide, and the bulging and foaming are serious;the reason is that the binder will react with Si in the powder to produce gas, resulting in foaming swelling. As the concentration of water glass decreases, the alkalinity becomes weaker, and the compatibility with mullite silicon carbide powder is improved. When the amount of hardening agent A is 2%,the hardening requirement can be achieved within 8 hours.2)The reaction between aluminum dihydrogen phosphate solution and mullite silicon carbide powder produces a relatively small degree of swelling. The elemental Fe in the powder reacts with aluminum dihydrogen phosphate to produce gas and form foaming swelling.Pickling silicon carbide can effectively reduce the swelling degree of cement. When the amount of hardening agent B is 3%,it can play a good hardening effect.3)The compatibility of the resin and mullite silicon carbide powder is good, and there is no foaming and bulging phenomenon, but its high temperature bonding strength is much lower than that of water glass and aluminum dihydrogen phosphate solution, and it is recommended to be used carefully in the corbel area.
