Alumina micro-powder is often added to improve the density and high-temperature resistance of castables. To compare the effects of different types of alumina micro-powders on the performance of ladle castables,this article uses high aluminum aggregate,corundum,magnesia,and silica micropowder as the main raw materials,with five different types of alumina added separately. After mixing them with water(the amount of water added shall be appropriate to ensure sufficient construction fluidity of the material)and vibrating,the effects of adding different types of alumina micropowders on the density,flexural strength,compressive strength,and slag erosion resistance of the castables are compared. The results indicate that,as compared to other types of alumina,the castable with AMA-20 alumina added has the best comprehensive performance.
