Introduction to large magnesium smelting engineering process and selection of main equipment
The process flow of large Mg smelting projects in China and the selection of rotary kiln for calcination and of cold slag treatment equipment for the reduction are introduced. With the Pidgeon process adopted for Mg production, calcined dolomite and Si-Fe,fluorite powder are ground in a certain ratio, and pressed into briquettes.Under high temperature and vacuum conditions, the MgO in calcined dolomite is reduced to Mg vapor, then condensed and crystallized into rough Mg,which is then refined to Mg ingots. The LK-k1500 rotary kiln of Φ5.8 m×80 m is used for calcination to achieve a calcined dolomite output of 1 350 t/d or more, and a low system heat consumption.Besides,a roller press finish grinding system equipped with a drum slag cooler is provided for the Mg slag system in the reduction section, with an output of finished Mg slag powder of 160 t/h,hence realizing waste-to-treasure and the rational utilization of resources.
