The main bridge of Dongjin Huanghe River Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 420 m,two side spans of 180 m and two side spans of 50 m.The superstructure consists of two lateral edge box girders and the connection concrete slabs, with the deck width reaching 34 m.The two pylons are △-shaped structures, with columns supported independently on their own footings, and the footings of each pylon are connected by tie beams along bridge width. As a semi-floating system, there are corbels installed at the junction of the pylons and the superstructure to provide support for the superstructure. The feet of the columns were fitted with ice-breakers.The foundations consist of 2.0 m-diameter bored piles, with the maximum pile length reaching up to 117 m.The stay cables, comprised of parallel steel wire cables with a nominal tensile strength of 1 860 MPa,are arranged in spatial double cable planes, with one end anchored at the pylons via steel anchor beams and concrete wedges, and one end anchored to the outer webs of the edge box girders via steel anchor boxes. The calculations demonstrate that the static and dynamic performance of the structure is sound and all the indicators meet the code requirements.
