Understanding China's Ecological Civilization Discourse:Four Perspectives from the International Academia
The discourse on China's ecological civilization is primarily a Chinese perspective-based discourse system,developed around the study of China's ecological civilization theory and its practice.Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,China's ecological progress has garnered significant attention and discussion in the international academia.Overall,international scholarship on China's ecological civilization discourse has demonstrated a trend of growing interest and increasing recognition.Regarding the understanding China's ecological civilization discourse,a diversity of perspectives has emerged internationally,including traditional cultural perspective,the socialist perspective,the political narrative,and comparative perspective on global environmental discourse.Studies on the above four perspectives suggest that the key to further advance the autonomous discourse system development and international dissemination of China's ecological civilization discourse lies in balancing the uniqueness and universality of its content.By deconstructing the environmental governance discourse dominated by developed countries and forming Chinese ecological civilization discourse system that integrates Chinese elements and global insights,China aims to enhance China's international discourse power that matches China's comprehensive national strength and international standing,thereby contributing Chinese wisdom to global ecological and environmental governance.
