From Borrowing to Mutual Learning:A Brief Overview of the Development of China Studies
In 1978,the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS)established the Overseas China Studies Office,initiating the process of research on overseas China studies as an academic discipline.After a foundational phase of introduction and reference,it has now entered the stage of exchange and mutual learning,elevating people's understanding of Chinese culture to a higher level.The rapid development of China studies not only reflects an awareness of the global significance of Chinese civilization,but also shows that China's perception of Chinese culture has evolved from cultural self-awareness to cultural confidence,and from cultural confidence to cultural autonomy.
