A Study and Critical Examination of"Digital Diaspora"
With the rapid development of digital technology and communication methods,transnationaldiasporas utilize digital technology to engage in social participation in virtual cyberspace for a variety of purposes including political,economic,social,religious,and social activities.Digital diaspora has emerged as a significant topic of research in social sciences.Researchers have tried to analyze the connotation of"digital diaspora"from different disciplinary perspectives,revealing the impact of digital technology on diasporic groups in terms of the social relationship transformation,identity construction,online political participation,and international conflict.Researchers also investigate the complex dependence and interaction between technology and society.However,the existing research still faces several challenges that need addressing,such as correcting the error of the research paradigm and methodology,avoiding stereotypes and biases in the research samples,and further expanding the scope of research topics.The study and critical examination of"digital diaspora"can provide insights and serve as a reference for China to solve the related issues.
