Progress on the treatment of bronchopulmonary dysplasia with mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosome
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD)often occurs in preterm infants and very low birth weight infants who need continuous high concentration oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation, and carries serious adverse prognoses and complications. In recent years, studies have demonstrated that mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosome(MSC-EXO)can alleviate the symptoms and improve the poor prognosis of BPD.Research on MSC-EXO for BPD is entering the clinical study phase, and further studies and data are needed to support its safety,long-term efficacy, and mechanism of interactions. This article reviews the research progress of MSC-EXO in the treatment of BPD,and lays the foundation for subsequent research in the clinical stage.
