Research progress on the role of placental macrophages in gestational diabetes mellitus
Gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)is one of the common complications during pregnancy, with a prevalence rate of about 15%and increasing year by year, posing significant risks to both mother and child.Recent studies have found that changes in the number, function, polarization and bioactivity of placental macrophages(HBCs)at the maternal-fetal interface may be closely related to the pathogenesis of GDM.This paper systematically reviews the impact of placental HBCs on the occurrence and progression of GDM and explores the molecular mechanisms underlying these effects, aiming to provide the latest scientific evidence for related research in this field.
