Comparison of the efficacy, safety and social function of schizophrenia patienst after treatment by pal-mitic acid paliperidone injection or oral olanzapine
Objective To compare the efficacy, safety and social function of Palmitic acid Paliperidone(PP1M)injection and oral Olanzapine tablet in the treatment of schizophrenia. Methods From August 2021 to December 2022,100 patients with schizophrenia were selected and divided into two groups using a random number table method.Among them, the control group included 50 patients who received Olanzapine treatment; The study group included 50 patients who received PPIM injection,The reduction rate in scores of Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS),Social Functioning Scale(PSP),Social Disability Screening Scale(SDSS),blood prolactin(PRL),fasting blood sugar(PBG)and total incidence of adverse reactions were compared between two groups. Results The PANSS reduction rate in the study group was higher than that in the control group, and the SDSS scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group after 1 week,2 weeks,4 weeks,6 weeks,8 weeks, and 12 weeks of treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After 1 week,2 weeks,4 weeks,6 weeks,8 weeks, and 12 weeks of treat-ment,the PSP score of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the PRL level of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Comparing the PBG between the study group and the control group,we did not observe the significant difference(P>0.05).In addition, there was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the study group and the control group(8.00%in the study group and 10.00%in the control group)(P>0.05).Conclusion PPIM injection can more effectively improve the clinical symp-toms and social functions of schizophrenic patients, and the incidence of adverse reactions is low,but it will cause an increase in Prolactin. Therefore,Prolactin monitoring should be strengthened during the treatment of schizophrenic pa-tients.
