The Efficacy of transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with hyperbaric oxygen inpatients with post-traumatic brain injury depression
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with hy-perbaric oxygen in the treatment of patients with depression after traumatic brain injury. Methods Eighty-five patients with depression after traumatic brain injury from May 2020 to September 2022 were the subjects of this study, which were set up as control group and observation group according to the patients'wishes.Forty-five cases in the control group were treated with conventional treatment, and 40 cases in the observation group were given transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the basis of treatment in the control group. The National Insti-tutes of Health Neurological Impairment Score(NHISS),the Ability to Live Scale(ADL),the Hamilton Anxiety and Depression Inventory(HAMA),and(HAMD)were assessed before and after treatment. Results HAMD scores and HAMA scores decreased significantly in both groups after treatment, and all scores were lower in the observation group than in the control group after treatment(P<0.05).The NHISS score decreased significantly and the ADL score in-creased significantly in both groups after treatment, and the NHISS score was lower and the ADL score was higher in the observation group than in the control group after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy for post-traumatic brain injury depression can improve neurological function and mobility as well as reduce anxiety and depression in patients.
