The effect of paroxetine in cancer patients with depression
Objective To explore the impact of using paroxetine therapy on the psychological, emotional, and mental states of patients with tumor associated depression. Methods The case data were collected and filed from March 2022 to March 2023.Totally 96 cases of tumor patients with depression were included. The included subjects were di-vided into control group and observation group based on the"random number table method",and were treated with Amitriptyline and Celeste respectively, with 48 cases in each group. The degree of depression, mental state, sleep quality, quality of life, and incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the scores of Self Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self Rating Depression Scale(SDS)decreased to vary-ing degrees in both groups, and the observed group showed a greater decrease than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the symptom checklist 90(SCL-90)scores of both groups significantly decreased, and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the score of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the EORTC QLQ-C30 score of cancer patients in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, but there was no difference between the groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The treatment of cancer patients with depression using paroxetine can effectively improve their depressive state, improve sleep quality, and achieve a good prognosis.
