The effect of psychological intervention in patients undergoing oral root canal therapy
Objective To explore the impact of psychological intervention on the psychological status of pa-tients undergoing oral root canal therapy. Methods Medical records were selected from the period of June 2020 to June 2023,with a total of 400 patients admitted to the hospital for oral root canal therapy.200 patients were randomly divided into a control group(receiving routine intervention)and an observation group(receiving psychological intervention)using a random number table method;Observe and compare the scores of the Modified Dental Anxiety Scale(MDAS),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ),and patient satisfaction be-tween two groups. Results After treatment, the scores of MDAS and HAMD in both groups decreased, and the scores in the observation group were lower(P<0.05).After intervention, both groups showed significant improvement in MCMQ scores, with the observation group having lower yield and avoidance scores than the control group, and higher face to face scores than the control group(P<0.05).The satisfaction of patients in the observation group was signifi-cantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Implementing psychological intervention during oral root canal therapy is beneficial for eliminating anxiety and depression, improving mental health status and enhanc-ing comfort, promoting the transformation of positive coping styles, and achieving satisfactory treatment results in pa-tients undergoing oral root canal therapy.
