The influence of anxiety and depression on skin symptoms in patients with atopic dermatitis
Objective To investigate the effect of anxiety and depression on skin symptoms in patients with atopic dermatitis.Methods Eighty-two patients with atopic dermatitis from January 2022to April 2023 were selected for the study objects in this study,and all of them were assessed for anxiety and depression.Based on the assessment results there were set into anxiety-depression group as well as control group.Patients were assessed for pruritus visual analog score(VAS),rash severity score(ISGA).The correlation between anxiety and depression and VAS score and ISGA score was also analyzed.Results 9 cases with anxiety,7 cases with depression,and 28 cases with anxiety combined with depression was detected in 82 patients.The Hamilton depression and anxiety scores(HAMD),(HAMA)or Self-Rating Scale for Depression and Anxiety Disorders in Children(DSRSC),(SCARED)scores were significantly higher in the anxious-depressed group than in the control group(P<0.05).VAS scores and ISGA scores were signifi-cantly higher in the anxious-depressed group than in the control group(P<0.05).Anxiety and depression scores were positively correlated with VAS scores and ISGA scores in the anxious-depressed group.Conclusion Anxiety and de-pression are more common in patients with atopic dermatitis,and anxiety and depression may aggravate patients'rash symptoms and pruritus symptoms,so attention should be paid to patients'mental health.
