The effect of Nurse-led group reminiscence therapy in geriatric depression patients with mild cognitive im-pairment
Objective To explore the effect of nurse-led group recall therapy on the intervention of geriatric depression patients combined with mild cognitive impairment(MCI).Methods A total of 120 elderly patients with depression combined with MCI from January 2021 to December 2022 were the subjects of this study and divided into two groups by simple randomization method. The control group was treated with conventional treatment, and the observation group was treated with nurse-led group recall therapy based on conventional treatment. The anxiety and depression self-assessment scale(SAS),(SDS),and Brief Mental State Examination Scale(MMSE)were compared before and after treatment. Results SAS scores and SDS scores were significantly lower in both groups after the intervention, and both scores were significantly better in the observation group than in the control group after the treatment(P<0.05).The MMSE scale scores of orientations, language, memory, attention and calculation, delayed recall and total score were significantly higher in both groups after the intervention, and the scores of languages, memory, delayed recall and total score were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group after the intervention(P<0.05).The differences between the two groups in orientation, attention and calculation were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Nurse-led group reminiscence therapy can reduce anxiety and depression and enhance cog-nitive functions such as language and memory in elderly patients with comorbid MCI depression.
