Prevalence of prenatal depression and risk factors
Objective To analyze the detection rate of prenatal depression and elucidate its influencing factors.Methods 742 pregnant women were recruited to our hospital for prenatal examination.The Edinburgh Postnatal Depres-sion Scale was used to assess depression levels and demographic,medical and psychosocial information was collected.Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of prenatal depression.Results The rate of prenatal depression was 11.9%in Beijing.Independent influencing factors included history of mental illness,male preference of pregnant women and in-laws,social support level,occupational status,and per capita living area(P<0.05).Conclusion A history of mental illness,preference for boys by pregnant women and in-laws,low lev-els of social support,joblessness,and low living space are risk factors for antenatal depression,and pregnant women who meet the above factors should be screened in a focused manner to reduce the incidence of antenatal depression.
