The status of anxiety and depression in urinary incontinence patients after radical prostate cancer surgery and its relationship with social support
Objective To observe the status of anxiety and depression in urinary incontinence patients after radical prostate cancer surgery and its relationship with social support. Methods A total of 80 male patients undergo-ing radical prostatectomy in our hospital from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected and studied. The patients were divided into urinary incontinence group(n=32)and non-urinary incontinence group(n=48)according to the amount of daily diapers used after surgery to assess whether they had urinary incontinence. The Self-rating depression Scale(SDS)and Self-rating anxiety scale(SDS)of patients in the two groups were observed.Pearson was used to analyze the cor-relation between anxiety, depression and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS)and SAS.Results SDS scores and SAS scores in the incontinence group were significantly higher than those in the non-incontinence group(P<0.05).The scores of subjective support, objective support, utilization of support and SSRS in the incontinence group were signifi-cantly lower than those in the non-incontinence group(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that SDS score and SAS score were negatively correlated with subjective support, objective support and utilization score of support(P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with urinary incontinence after radical prostate cancer surgery are more prone to anxiety and de-pression,and their social support is lower, and there is an obvious correlation between the two, which needs clinical attention.
