The effect of vipassana cognitive therapy on elderly patients with depression
Objective To explore the intervention effect of Vipassana cognitive therapy on elderly patients with depression. Methods Eighty-four elderly patients with depression in our hospital from June 2020 to January 2022 were selected, and they were divided into two groups according the number table method. The patients in the control group were treated with sertraline, and the patients in the observation group were treated with internal cognitive therapy on the basis of sertraline treatment. Both groups were treated for 8 consecutive weeks. The self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS),the Nurses'Global Assessment of Suicide Risk scale(NGASR),and activities of daily living(ADL)were compared before and after treatment. Results The SAS and SDS scores of the two groups af-ter treatment were lower than those before treatment, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group after intervention(P<0.05).After treatment, the NGASR score in the two groups decreased, while the ADL score increased, and the two indicators in the observation group were better than those in the control group after inter-vention(P<0.05).Conclusion Vipassana cognitive therapy in the treatment of senile depression can effectively re-duce anxiety and depression, improve the quality of life, and reduce the risk of suicide.
