The relationship between depression and cardiac function in patients with chronic heart failure
Objective To explore the relationship between depression and cardiac function in patients with chronic heart failure. Methods Eighty-four patients with chronic heart failure in our hospital from January 2019 to January 2023 were selected as the study subjects. The self-rating depression scale(SDS)were used to depression screening, and they was divided into the depression group and the non-depression group.General information, the left ventricular end-systolic and end-diastolic diameter(LVESD,LVEDD),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)and other cardiac function indexes of the two groups and the New York Heart Association(NYHA)cardiac function classifi-cation were compared. The binary logistic regression were used to analyze the relationship between cognitive dysfunction and cardiac function index. Results Among 84 cases of chronic heart failure,32 cases of depression were screened,of which 26 cases were mild and 6 cases were moderate. There were statistically significant differences in age, sleep disorder and years of education between depression group and non-depression group(P<0.05),but no statisti-cally significant differences in gender, residence and marital status between depression group and non-depression group(P>0.05).LVEF in depression group was significantly lower than that in non-depression group,LVESD and LVEDD were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.05).NYHA grading of depression group was more serious than that of non-depression group(P<0.05).Binary logistic regression analysis showed that age, combined sleep disorders, years of education,LVEF and NYHA grade Ⅳ were the influencing factors of depression in patients with chronic heart failure. Conclusion The incidence rate of depression in patients with chronic heart failure is high, which may be related to LVESD and cardiac function grading.
