Effects of pramipexole on emotional and cognitive function in patients with Parkinson's disease
Objective To investigate the effect of pramipexole hydrochloride on the emotional status as well as cognitive function of Parkinson's patients.Methods Eighty-five patients with Parkinson's disease from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected in this study,and divided into two groups by number table method.The control group was treated with levodopa,and the observation group was treated with pramipexole hydrochloride in combination with the control group.The Simple Mental State Examination(MMSE),Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS)Ham-ilton Depression as well as Anxiety Scale(HAMD),(HAMA)were compared before and after treatment.Results MMSE scores increased and UPDRS scores decreased after treatment in both groups,and MMSE scores were signifi-cantly higher and UPDRS scores were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group after treat-ment(P<0.05).The HAMD scores as well as HAMA scores were significantly lower in both groups after treatment,and both scores were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Pramipexole hydrochloride can effectively relieve anxiety and depression in Parkinson's disease,enhance cognitive function,and promote the improvement of clinical symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
