Coping style and parental rearing style of adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury behavior
Objective In recent years, the prevalence of non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI)behavior in ado-lescents is increasing, which is a hot issue in related fields. This study conducted a study on adolescent patients with NSSI in order to explore the differences between patients and normal adolescents in coping styles and parental rearing styles. Methods In this study,106 adolescent patients with NSSI behavior were selected from Chaohu Hospital affili-ated to Anhui Medical University from September 2019 to December 2020,and a certain number of healthy adolescents matched with them were selected for control study. After the interview and evaluation of MINI scale, the participants were evaluated with general clinical data, coping style scale, parental rearing style and other scales. Results The results showed that there were significant differences in gender, only child,parent-child contradiction, parental di-vorce,family economic status, coping style and rearing style between adolescent NSSI patients and healthy adolescents. In addition, correlation analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between coping style and rearing style.Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that the NSSI behavior of adolescent patients was related to the sub-factors of coping style and parental rearing style,in which the self-injury rate of adolescent patients with problem-solving and help-seeking coping style was lower, while the incidence of NSSI behavior of adolescent patients with father's excessive intervention and mother's excessive interference and protection was relatively higher. Conclusion The self-injury be-havior of adolescent patients with NSSI is related to coping style and parental rearing style.Improper rearing style may be the cause of NSSI behavior, which is worth further exploring the significance of early intervention on family rearing style in order to reduce the incidence of adolescent NSSI.
