Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of Duloxetine and Sertraline in the treatment of depres-sive symptoms in elderly patients with depression. Methods Collect case data from October 2021 to October 2022 and conduct research. The selected subjects were elderly patients with depression admitted to the hospital,a total of 100 cases were included.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into control group(Sertraline treat-ment group)and observation group(Duloxetine treatment group),50 cases were included in each group;Observe and compare the degree of depression, sleep quality, clinical efficacy, and serum factors between the two groups. Results Compared with the control group, the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD)scores of the observation group were significantly reduced after 1 week,4 weeks, and 6 weeks of treatment(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total clinical effective rate of the ob-servation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of Norepinephrine(NE),5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)and dopamine(DA)in the two groups increased in varying degrees, and the increase in the observation group was greater than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with Sertraline,Duloxetine can achieve more significant therapeutic effect in elderly patients with depression and improve their depres-sion and sleep.
