Effects of group cognitive behavioral therapy combined with drug on manic episodes, oxidative stress markers and sleep quality in patients with bipolar disorder
Objective To investigate the effects of Group cognitive behavioral therapy(G-CBT)combined with medication on manic episodes, oxidative stress markers and sleep quality in patients with Bipolar disorder(BD).Methods 108 cases of BD patients in our hospital from September 2020 to October 2022 were selected as the study objects, with 54 cases in each case. They were divided into drug group and cognitive group according to treatment methods. The drug group was treated with medication, and the cognitive group was treated with G-CBT.Manic and psy-chiatric symptoms, sleep quality, and oxidative stress indexes were compared between the two groups. Results After 8 weeks of treatment,Bech-Rafaelsen mania Assessment Scale, positive and negative syndrome scale scores in cogni-tive group were lower than those in drug group(P<0.05).After 8 weeks of treatment, the scores of sleep time, sleep quality and sleep time in cognitive group were lower than those in drug group(P<0.05).The level of malondialdehyde in cognitive group was lower than that in drug group after 8 weeks of treatment; The levels of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase were higher than those in drug group(P<0.05).Conclusion Group cognitive behavioral therapy combined with drug control can regulate oxidative stress markers, improve manic episodes, and improve sleep quality in patients with bipolar disorder.
