Objective This study aims to analyze and compare the drinking behaviors,liver function,de-pression and anxiety,and severity of alcohol dependence between Yi and Han alcohol dependent patients in the Yi Autonomous Prefecture,in order to provide scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of Yi alcohol dependence.Methods The general information questionnaire,drinking habits,the severity of alcohol dependence,depression and anxiety evaluation and liver function of Yi male patients and age-matched Han male patients were collected.The drinking behaviors,liver function,and drinking-related clinical characteristics of Yi and Han alcohol dependence pa-tients were compared and analyzed.Results Yi ethnic alcohol dependent patients had a significantly lower age at which they started drinking,longer drinking years,more severe alcohol dependence,and lower levels of anxiety and depres-sion,compared with Han ethnic alcohol dependent patients.Conclusion Society and medical staff should strengthen the awareness of the Yi ethnic group about the harmful health of alcohol,reduce the risk of excessive alcohol use and disease progression.
