Effects of donepezil combined with olanzapine on mental and behavioral symptoms,hemorheology in-dexes and levels of inflammatory factors in vascular dementia patients
Objective To investigate the effect of donepezil combined with olanzapine on vascular dementia pa-tients with psychobehavioral symptoms.Methods Ninety-eight patients with vascular dementia with psychobehavioral symptoms were selected from the Department of Neurology of our hospital from October 2020 to October 2022,and di-vided into groups according to the lottery method.49 cases in the control group were treated with olanzapine,while 49 cases in the observation group were treated with Donepezil hydrochloride.Mental and behavioral disorders,hemorheo-logical indexes,inflammatory factor levels and adverse reactions were compared.Results There was no statistical significance in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,the levels of the brief Psychiatric Scale(BPRS),irritability questionnaire(CM AI),whole blood viscosity,hemocytosis,fibrinogen,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,interleukin 6(IL-6)and interleukin 8(IL-8)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,while the scores of the Simple Dementia Scale(BSSD)were higher than those in the control group.There was statistical significance(P＜0.05).Conclusion The combination of donepezil hydrochloride and olanzapine can effectively improve hemodynamics,reduce inflammatory reactions and mental behavioral disorders in patients with vascular dementia accompanied by psychological and behavioral symptoms,and has high safety.
