The application value of escitalopram combined with electroconvulsive shock therapy in diabetic pa-tients with depression
Objective To study the application value of escitalopram combined with electroconvulsive shock treat-ment in diabetic patients with depression and its influence on negative mood and psychology. Methods A total of 130 pa-tients with diabetes and depression treated in our hospital from June 2021 to June 2022 were selected for observation.Patients were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 65 patients in each group. Both groups were routinely treated with hypoglycemic drugs such as insulin, acarbose and metformin, the control group was given escitalopram on this basis, the observation group on the basis of the control group were treated for 2 months with electrocon-vulsive shock treatment, and then the two groups of Hamilton's anxiety/depression scale(HAMA/HAMD)score before and 2 months after treatment,self-rating of anxiety/depression(SAS/SDS)score,and the two groups of adverse effects were compared. Results The overall response rate of the observation group was 98.46%(64/65),which was significantly higher than 86.15%(56/65)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The HAMA,HAMD scores,SAS and SDS scores were lower than before treatment, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group respectively, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The overall incidence of adverse ef-fects in the observation group was 9.23%(6/65),compared with 6.15%(4/65)in the control group, had not significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Escitalopram and electroconvulsive shock have good application value in patients with diabetes and depression, and can be better to regulate the negative mood, with high safety.
