Correlation analysis between depression risk, disease perception, and hope level in patients undergo-ing thyroid cancer surgery
Objective Analyze the correlation between depression risk, disease perception, and hope level in patients undergoing thyroid cancer surgery. Methods A total of 246 patients who underwent surgical treatment for thy-roid cancer in our hospital from January 2022 to December 2022 were selected as the study objects.Hamilton Depres-sion Scale(HAMD)was used to assess the degree of depression of the patients and they were divided into two groups:depression group(n=106)and no depression group(n=140).Baseline data, brief illness perception questionnaire(BIPQ)and Chinese version of Herth hope index(HHI)were collected.Multivariate Logistic regression was used to analyze the factors affecting the occurrence of depression in patients undergoing thyroid cancer surgery, and Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between depression and disease perception and hope level in patients un-dergoing thyroid cancer surgery. Results The proportion of BIPQ score≥35 points and HHI score≤23 points in de-pressed group was higher than that in non-depressed group(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that BIPQ score≥35 and HHI score≤23 were risk factors for depression in patients undergoing thyroid cancer surgery(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that HAMD score was positively correlated with BIPQ score and negatively correlated with HHI score in patients undergoing thyroid cancer surgery(P<0.05).Conclusion Both high disease negative awareness and low hope level may cause depression in patients undergoing thyroid cancer surgery. The risk and degree of depression can be reduced by improving patients'disease perception and hope level.
