Depression and its risk factors in patients with early gastrointestinal cancer after ESD
Objective Investigate the postoperative depression status of patients with early gastrointestinal cancer undergoing endoscopic mucosal dissection(ESD)and analyze its risk factors. Methods Select and study 80 patients with early gastrointestinal cancer who underwent diagnosis and treatment in our hospital from September 2019 to September 2023,and set them as the observation group. All patients underwent ESD surgery.According to the Self Rating Depression Scale(SDS),patients with postoperative depression were evaluated.Patients with SDS scores≥53 were classified as the depression group(n=35),while those with SDS scores<53 were classified as the non depression group(n=45).Compare the basic information and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS)scores of the depressed and non depressed groups, and use multiple logistic regression analysis to identify the risk factors for postoperative depression in patients with early gastrointestinal cancer undergoing ESD surgery. Results The proportion of female patients in the depression group and those who did not receive preoperative health education was higher than that in the non depres-sion group, and the SSRS score was lower than that in the non depression group(P<0.05).Multiple logistic regression analysis confirmed that gender, preoperative health education, and SSRS score are all risk factors for postoperative depression in patients with early gastrointestinal cancer after ESD surgery, with P<0.05.Conclusion Most patients with early gastrointestinal cancer who undergo ESD surgery have depressive emotions, and gender, preoperative health education, and SSRS score are risk factors that affect postoperative depression in patients with early gastrointestinal cancer, which requires high clinical attention.
