The status of anxiety and depression in patients with dry eye and its influencing factors
Objective The anxiety and depression of patients with dry eye and its influencing factors were ob-served and analyzed. Methods A total of 90 patients with dry eye admitted to our hospital from June 2020 to June 2022 were studied.Hamilton Anxiety Scale(Hamilton anxiety rating scale,HAMA)and Hamilton Depression Scale(Hamilton depression rating scale,HAMD)were used to assess the anxiety and depression of the patients and divided into groups.Gender, age, course of disease, education, annual income, sleep time, refractive status, ocular surface disease index(Ocular surface disease index,OSDI)score, tear secretion test(Schirmer'test,S'T),tear film rupture time(Break-up Time,BUT),corneal fluorescein staining(Fluorescein staining,FL)and other data of the two groups were compared for univariate and multivariate analysis. Results Among the 90 dry eye patients,11 patients with simple anxiety,8 patients with simple depression, and 4 patients with anxiety combined with depression were included in the anxiety and depression group. There were significant differences in disease course, annual income, sleep time and OSDI score between the anxiety and depression groups(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in gender, age, education level, refractive status,SⅠT,BUT and FL between the two groups(P>0.05).Multivariate Lo-gistic regression analysis showed that duration of disease>3 years, annual income<50,000 yuan, sleep time<6h,high OSDI score were the influencing factors of anxiety and depression in patients with dry eye. Conclusion The higher incidence of anxiety and depression in patients with dry eye may be related to the duration of disease, income, lack of sleep, and higher OSDI score.
