The social function status in elderly patients with schizophrenia and its influence factors
Objective The analyze the social function status in elderly patients with schizophrenia and its influ-ence factors.Methods A total of 105 elderly patients with schizophrenia from November 2021 to January 2023 were selected,and the personal and Social Function Scale were evaluated.The differences in social function scores among different ages,genders,and educational backgrounds were analyzed.Multiple stepwise regression analysis to inves-tigate the influencing factors of social function.Results 105 elderly patients with schizophrenia had a social function score of(59.19±7.26)points.There were statistically significant differences in social function scores among patients with different social support,family income,age,place of residence,number of hospitalizations,comorbid depres-sion,disease course,and educational background(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in social function scores among different marriages,genders,and family histories of mental illness(P>0.05).Multiple step-wise regression analysis showed that social support,family income,place of residence,number of hospitalizations,course of illness,and comorbid depression were the influencing factors of social function(P>0.05).Conclusion Elderly patients with schizophrenia generally have social dysfunction,which may be affected by low social support,low family income,and living in rural areas.
