Analysis of the current status and risk factors of hospital-acquired pneumonia in patients with schizophrenia
Objective To explore the risk factors for hospital-acquired pneumonia(HAP)in inpatients with schizophrenia and provide reference for the formulation of clinical prevention and control strategies. Methods A total of 684 patients with schizophrenia in male and female psychiatric ward in 2021 were selected, including 21 patients in HAP group and 663 patients in non-HAP group. The general data of patients'age, smoking history, complicated underlying diseases, total course of disease, medication history and drug use were collected retrospectively.Univari-ate and multivariate regression analysis was used to explore the risk factors of HAP.Results 21 patients developed HAP.There were significant differences in age, underlying diseases, varieties of antischizophrenia and use of first-generation antipsychotics between the two groups. There was no significant difference in gender, urban and rural distri-bution,smoking history, total medical history, albumin, and fasting blood glucose between the two groups(P>0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age ≥ 65 years old, complicated with underlying diseases and use of more than two kinds of antipsychotics were independent risk factors for HAP in patients with schizophrenia. Conclusions Age ≥ 65 years old, complicated with underlying diseases and the use of more than two kinds of anti-psychotic drugs all increase the risk of HAP in patients with schizophrenia.Corresponding intervention measures can be adopted to reduce the incidence of infection.
