The effect of modified non-convulsive electroconvulsive therapy in patients with refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder
Objective To investigate the curative effect of modified non-convulsive electroconvulsive therapy on refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder. Methods 80 patients with refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder who visited our hospital from May 2020 to May 2023 were divided into study group(n=40,modified non-convulsive elec-troconvulsive therapy combined with drug therapy)and control group(n=40,conventional drug therapy)according to random number table method.Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Rating Scale(Y-BOCS),17-Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD-17)and Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)were used to evaluate the clinical efficacy before treatment and at 2,4,8 and 12 weeks after treatment. The clinical efficacy was evaluated by the reduction rate. The side ef-fects scale(TESS)was used to evaluate the occurrence of adverse reactions during treatment. Results The scores of HAMA,HAMD-17 and Y-BOCS were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05)at the end of 2nd,4th,8th and 12th week of treatment, and the scores of TESS in study group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Modified non-convulsive electroconvulsive therapy combined with routine drug therapy can significantly improve the therapeutic effect of refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder patients without increasing side effects.
