Efficacy of tomoxetine in ADHD patients and its impact on their cognitive processing and execution abilities
Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of atomoxetine on patients with hyperactivity disorder and its impact on cognitive processing and execution abilities.Methods Eighty-six children with ADHD admitted to Shan-dong Sunshine Ronghe Hospital from May 2021 to February 2023 were selected as the study subjects.All patients were treated with Tomoxetine and compared before and after self treatment.The integrated audiovisual continuous testing were used to evaluate clinical effiicacy and execution ability.The Das Naglieri cognitive assessment system were used to assess cognitive processing ability.Results After treatment,attention,opposition defiance,hyperactivity and impulsivity,and total scores of ADHD were significantly lower than before treatment(P＜0.05).The scores of attention,control,comprehensive attention,and comprehensive control quotient after treatment were significantly higher than those before treatment(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of continuous processing,simultaneous processing,attention,and planning of the Das Naglieri system were significantly higher than before treatment(P＜0.05).Conclusion Tomox-etine in the treatment of ADHD not only reduces clinical symptoms such as opposition,hyperactivity,and impulsivity,but also enhances its cognitive processing and execution abilities.
