Effect of Coronary Artery Disease Combined with Depressed Patients on Coronary Plaque Composition and Stability
Objective To investigate the effects of coronary artery disease combined with depression in patients with coronary artery disease on coronary plaque composition, properties and stability. Methods Ninety-eight patients with coronary artery disease were included from January 2021 to August 2023,and the patients were assessed for de-pressed mood. And according to the assessment results, they were divided into depression and no depression groups,26 cases and 72 cases respectively.Coronary plaque composition, nature and stability were compared between the two groups. Results The percentage of necrotic core in plaques was significantly higher in the depressed group than in the non-depressed group(t=8.927,P<0.001).The differences in fibrofat, calcification, and fibrous tissue were not statistically significant(t=1.593,P=0.114;t=1.295,P=0.199;t=0.929,P=0.335).Fibrous cap thickness was lower in the depressed group than in the non-depressed group, and the percentage of plaque angle and vulnerable plaques was higher than in the non-depressed group(t=3.956,P<0.001;t=5.261,P<0.001;t=6.496,P<0.001).The difference in plaque length between the groups was not statistically significant(t=0.500,P=0.618).Conclusion Depression is more common in combination with coronary artery disease, and depressed patients have more necrotic core tissue as well as vul-nerable plaques in their coronary plaque composition, and their plaque stability is worse.
