Effect of Anxiety and Depression on Gastrointestinal Symptoms in Chronic non-Atrophic Gastritis
Objective To explore the effect of anxiety and depression on gastrointestinal symptoms in Chronic Atrophic Gastritis(CAG).Methods Ninety CAG patients from the Eighth People's Hospital of Hefei City from Feb-ruary 2020 to April 2023 were selected as the study subjects. The self-rating anxiety/depression scale(SAS/SDS)were evaluated.According to this, they were divided into the anxiety depression group and the non-anxiety depression group. The CAG clinical symptom scores of nausea, anorexia, belching, bloating, and upper abdominal pain between two groups of patients,as well as the gastroscopy gastric mucosal scores of erythema, bleeding, erosion, and bile reflux were compared. The correlation between SAS score,SDS score,CAG clinical symptom score, and gastroscopy gastric mucosal score were analyzed. Results A total of 28 out of 90 CAG patients were diagnosed with anxiety or(and)de-pression,with a detection rate of 31.11%.The clinical symptom scores and total scores of CAG in the anxiety and de-pression group were significantly higher than those in the non-anxiety and depression group(P<0.05).The scores and total scores of various gastroscopy gastric mucosa in the anxiety and depression group were significantly higher than those in the non-anxiety and depression group(P<0.05).SAS score and SDS score are positively correlated with CAG clini-cal symptom score and gastroscopy gastric mucosal score. Conclusion The detection rate of negative emotions such as anxiety and depression were high in CAG patients, and there was a significant relationship between anxiety and depres-sion and CAG-related symptoms.
