Spatial clustering analysis of echinococcosis in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province
Objective To analyze the spatial distribution and spatial clusters of echinococcosis in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province,identify the areas where more screening of echinococcosis is needed at the present stage and then provide guidance to the echinococcosis control and prevention.Methods Based on the screening data of echinococcosis among the population in 18 counties of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in 2014,spatial scan analysis and spatial autocorrelation method were used to identify the spatial clusters on the detection rate of cystic echinococcosis and alveolar echinococcosis patients who were newly diagnosed in this screening at the township level,the results of the two methods were compared.Results Spatial clusters of both cystic echinococcosis and alveolar echinococcosis were recognized in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.Both the primary cluster of cystic echinococcosis and alveolar echinococcosis was located in the northwest of the Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture,Sichuan Province.For cystic echinococcosis,two nested clusters located in the northeast of Dege county and the northeast of Shiqu county were included in the primary cluster.For alveolar echinococcosis,there are three nested clusters which were located in the northeast of Dege county,the north of Ganzi county and the northeast of Shiqu county.Conclution Clusters were identified on the spatial distribution of echinococcosis in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture,Sichuan Province.Spatial clustering analysis can find out the areas of spatial clusters which need to pay more attention in future work.
