Research advances of wake-up test during scoliosis orthopedic surgery
Spinal cord injury is one of the most dangerous neurological complications in scoliosis orthopedic surgery. The Wake-up Test is the most direct and effective way to monitor spinal cord function. Therefore,it is very important to develop a reason-able anesthesia scheme.Currently,no recommended guideline is available for anesthesia protocols when wake-up test for scoliosis sur-gery is needed. In this review, the application of intravenous anesthesia, erector spinae plane block(ESPB)combined with tracheal intu-bation general anesthesia, inhalation anesthesia combined with intravenous general anesthesia, and dexmedetomidine in the wake-up test for scoliosis orthopedic surgery are summarized to present an ideal anesthesia scheme for patients who need to be waked up during scoliosis orthopedic surgery and improve the quality of anesthesia and patient safety.
