Analysis on the Willingness of Order-oriented Medical Students to Renew Contract after the Expiration of Performance
Objective To systematically evaluate the willingness to renew the contract after the expiration of the performance period of rural order-oriented tuition-waived medical students(abbreviated as oriented medical students)in China.Methods A systematic search was conducted for studies on the willingness of oriented medical students to serve at the grassroots level after the expiration of their performance period,and Meta-analysis was performed using Stata 17.0 software after 2 researchers independently screened the literature,extracted the required information,and evaluated the risk of bias of the included studies.Results A total of 29 studies were included,including 12 928 study subjects,of which 2 732 oriented medical students had the intention to renew their contracts.The results showed that the rate of intention to renew the contract after the expiration of the performance period of oriented medical students in China was 17.5%(95%CI:12.6%-22.3%).Conclusion The available evidence suggests that the intention to re-new the contract at the end of the performance period of oriented medical students in China is low,and it is necessary to take targeted measures to promote the intention to renew the contract of oriented medical students.
