Application of Self-perceived Pain Assessment Knowledge and Confidence Scale among Palliative Care Medical Staff
Objective To translate the English version of the Self-Perceived Pain Assessment Knowledge and Confidence Scale into Chinese,and to check the reliability and validity among palliative care medical staff.Methods The English version of the Self-Perceived Pain Assessment Knowledge and Confidence Scale was translated into Chi-nese,and then back-translated and cultural modification were conducted.In November 2022,303 clinical palliative medical staff were selected as subjects through convenience sampling,and the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Self-Perceived Pain Assessment Knowledge and Confidence Scale were tested among them.Results The Chinese version of the Self-Perceived Pain Assessment Knowledge and Confidence Scale contained 17 items.The Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.935,and the test-retest reliability was 0.930.The Scale-Content Validity Index was 0.920,and the Item-Content Validity Index ranged from 0.830 to 1.000.The scale is a three factors scale and the to-tal variance was 73.329%,and all fitting coefficients were close to 0.900.Conclusion The Chinese version of the Self-Perceived Pain Assessment Knowledge and Confidence Scale has good reliability and validity among palliative care medical staff.It is a reliable scale to assess the palliative medical staffs'pain assessment knowledge and self-con-fidence in China.
