A Study on the Willingness to Participate in the"Time Bank"Pension Model and Its Influencing Factors among College Students of Medical-related Majors
Objective To explore the current situation and influencing factors of the willingness to participate in the"time bank"pension model for students of medical related majors.Methods A total of 550 undergraduates of medical related majors from four universities in Hunan province were selected using convenience sampling method.A self-made questionnaire was used for the survey from January to March 2022.The influencing factors of willingness to participate were analyzed using chaotic multi-category logistic regression.Results Among the 550 undergraduates of medical-related majors in Hunan province,267(48.5%)were willing to participate in"time bank",216(39.3%)expressed uncertainty,and 67(12.2%)were not willing to participate.College students who were willing and uncer-tain to participate in the voluntary service of"time bank"had higher willingness to participate in health care ser-vices,education and leisure services,and psychological services.Logistics regression analysis showed that knowing total score(OR=1.036,95%CI:0.996-1.078),and having volunteer experience(OR=2.233,95%CI:1.210-4.122)were the favorable factors for willingness to participate.The risk factors of willingness to participate were as follows:men(OR=0.494,95%CI:0.248-0.982),and not worried about their own pension in the future(OR=0.476,95%CI:0.227-1.000),willing to move into pension institution after 60 years old(OR=0.136,95%CI:0.052-0.357),accepting community pension(OR=0.327,95%CI:0.138-0.775).Conclusion College students of medical-related in Hunan province showed low level of willingness to participate in the"time bank"pension mo-del.In the future,we need to expand publicity,actively take measures to improve the credit protection of time curren-cy from various aspects,improve the attractiveness of the"time bank"pension model,and further strengthen the contingent of medical related professional volunteers.
