Study on the Allocation and Equity of General Practitioners in Chongqing
Objective To provide the reference for the local government to optimize the construction of general practitioners(GPs)by analyzing the current situation of GPs in Chongqing from 2015 to 2021.Methods We conduc-ted a comparative analysis of the GPs allocation of Chongqing during 2015-2021 using statistical description,Gini coefficient and Theil index. Results Compared with 2015,the total number of GPs and registered GPs in Chongqing increased by 6,063 and 6,419,and the per capita number increased by 1.82 and 1.98,respectively.The ratio of rural general practice assistant physicians to rural doctors was 1.3:10.The year-on-year growth rate of grass-roots GPs was 1.97%-62.79%,and village clinics GPs accounted for 17.70%in 2021.The Gini coefficient and Theil index of GPs decreased by 0.2475 and 0.1029 respectively. The difference contribution rate of GPs within the group ranged from 58.78%to 86.57%.The contribution rate of the main urban area, metropolitan area and northeast Chongqing to the intra-group difference was much higher than that of southeast Chongqing. Conclusion The development speed of GPs in Chongqing is fast, but it lags behind the expected target and the per capita allocation is relatively insuffi-cient.The growth of community-level GPs is not stable, and rural assistant GPs are playing an active role. The equity of GPs allocation is improving.Inequity is mainly caused by intra-group differences, and the main urban area is the key to influence intra-group differences. It is suggested that the municipal government increase the actual number of GPs,try its best to enhance the occupational attraction of GPs,focus on narrowing the internal differences in the main urban area, and guide the balanced and coordinated development of GPs resources inside and outside the area.
